Job Summary
Independently set up, program, and operate CNC lathes (Mikroturn Hembrug, Mori Seiki, and Emco) to turn compact one-offs and small series from exotic materials with micron precision. Prepare fixtures, check tools, and measure products against tight tolerances using TopSolid 7 or control interfaces. Monitor quality and optimize machining processes within a compact two-shift team environment. Work in a direct, down-to-earth atmosphere where you progress from setup to specialist roles. This role supports NTS's mission as a Tier-1 supplier for semiconductor and opto-mechatronic solutions, combining development and production to drive technological progress for global OEMs.
Required Qualifications
- A completed technical education at MBO level 3 or 4, preferably in Machining or Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrable experience with independently setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes
- Experience with CAM programming, preferably TopSolid, and at the control (Fanuc or Siemens)
- Good command of the English language in speech and writing, for drawings, work instructions, and communication on the shop floor
- Willingness to work in 2-shifts (6:00 to 14:30 and 14:15 to 23:00, Monday to Thursday; until 21:45 on Fridays)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with independently setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes (Mikroturn Hembrug, Mori Seiki, and Emco)
- Experience with TopSolid 7
- Experience with Fanuc controls
- Experience with Siemens controls
- Experience with exotic materials such as titanium, molybdenum, niobium, platinum, and stainless steel
- Ability to work with micron precision (up to about 1 micron)
- Ability to work on compact one-offs and small series rather than mass production
- Ability to work with round starting material
- Ability to work independently from start to finish (setting up, programming, measuring)
- Ability to prepare fixtures and check tools, products, and materials based on technical drawings and work instructions
- Ability to monitor the quality of own work and measure according to tight tolerances
- Ability to develop into a programmer or machining specialist
