Job Summary
Create, modify, and troubleshoot CNC toolpaths using Fusion 360 CAM, translating Rhino models and drawings into production-ready workflows. Operate Homag, Weeke, laser, 3D printing, and thermoforming equipment while managing setup, material loading, and tool changes for nested sheet-good and multi-operation projects. Monitor machine performance, inspect fabricated components for accuracy, and coordinate with project managers and technical designers to align scope and shop capacity. Flag missing design information, execute assigned machine queues, and maintain organized CAM files and production documentation. Support peak-period AM/PM shift coverage, extended hours, evenings, and weekends when workload requires, ensuring machines remain production-ready through preventive maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of CNC machining and CAM programming experience in fast-paced creative production workshops
- Working knowledge of Fusion 360 CAM and Rhino
- Ability to execute complex machining operations, including multi-operation setups and 2-sided machining
- Ability to translate 3D models, shop drawings, and technical documentation into production-ready machine workflows
- Basic understanding of materials, tooling, feeds/speeds, fixturing, and fabrication methods
- Experience working with wood, MDF, plywood, plastics, foams, acrylics, laminates, and specialty sheet goods
- Hands-on experience with laser cutting and 3D printing workflows, including file prep, setup, and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of thermoforming, plexi-polishing, fabrication, assembly, and material preparation methods
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite and Windows-based workflows, especially Excel
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership maturity when working cross-functionally
- Calm, collaborative, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced production environments
- Must be professional, punctual, and dependable, with a strong sense of accountability
- Must be available to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends during peak fabrication periods
- Physically capable of lifting and handling oversized sheet goods
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Background in industrial design, architecture, or related field
- Grasshopper or similar tool
- Experience with Homag/Weeke systems, CutRite, WoodWop, WoodCAD|CAM, or Intellistore
- Forklift / hi-lo experience or willingness to be trained and authorized
