Job Summary
Operate and program multi-axis CNC Creep Feed Grinder machines to precisely grind complex shapes, hard metals, and soft alloys using slow, deep cuts for high-tolerance finishes. Load workpieces, select grinding wheels, and set machine parameters based on engineering drawings and GD&T specifications. Create and modify CNC programs for intricate geometries while continuously monitoring the process with precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure adherence to tight tolerances. Perform deburr operations, design fixturing when needed, and resolve issues related to machine malfunctions or tool wear. Document inspection findings, adhere to GMP and housekeeping standards, and perform routine maintenance to prevent production downtime. Available for days, nights, weekends, and holidays with mandatory overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High School/Equivalent Diploma and/or Specified Trade School certificate
- Thorough understanding of CNC grinding principles and programming
- Well-versed in creep feed grinding techniques and limitations
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
- Well-versed in various precision measurement skills using various metrology tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and great attention to detail
- 3-5 years of Multi-axis CNC grinding experience
- Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and/or mandatory overtime when required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the industrial gas turbine and/or aerospace industry
