Job Summary
Conduct safety inspections, monitor patient areas during meals, and perform patient checks to ensure a secure environment for psychiatric patients. Provide hygienic care, assist with activities of daily living, and manage patient belongings including sharps and medical devices. Monitor vital signs, document intake and output, and promptly respond to call lights while maintaining accurate medical records. Facilitate patient activities, de-escalate disruptive behavior, and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers. Manage unit supplies, process specimens for transport, and maintain departmental cleanliness. Work full-time 7a-7:30p, earning $20.35-$27.77 hourly, with required CNA and CPR certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) certification
- CPR Certification
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and visitors
- Ability to perform skillfully in physical crisis intervention with disturbed or violent patients
- Ability to perform in a calm manner in crises and emergency situations
- Effective use of proper body mechanics when handling patients, supplies, and equipment
- Ability to comprehend medical/psychiatric terminology
- Ability to handle stressful and physically demanding work subject to a patient population at risk for unpredictable behavior
- Ability to keep patient and employee information confidential
- Basic computer skills
