CNA Sitter- OLGMC Sitter Pool- Full Time Nights

Job Summary

Maintain patient safety and provide basic patient care under direct supervision of a licensed nurse, including constant observation of patients and immediate notification of behavioral or status changes. Perform all delegated functions while adhering to policies, maintaining a clean environment, and completing documentation of patient-related tasks. Adapt communication styles to specific patient populations and effectively communicate needs with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams. Work three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with rotating weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Current state of practice Certification as a Nurses' Assistant (CNA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days from hire
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) to be obtained within 30 days from hire
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
  • The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
  • The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste

Desired Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Hospital and telemetry experience
