Job Summary
Promote resident hygiene and comfort, distribute food and water, and assist with repositioning, transferring, and ambulation. Record fluid intake and output, weigh residents, document flow sheets, and report observations to the Team Leader or Nurse Manager. Take vital signs, perform perineal and colostomy care, and respond to call lights. Make beds, maintain unit cleanliness, and prepare rooms for housekeeping after discharge. Respond to call lights in a timely manner. Assist with admission, discharge, and postmortem care.
Required Qualifications
- Current NY CNA Certification
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to transfer residents
- Must be able to ambulate and transport residents
- Must be able to record fluid intake and output
- Must be able to weigh residents
- Must be able to document on flow sheets
- Must be able to assist with admission, discharge and postmortem care
- Must be able to respond to call lights in a timely manner
- Must be able to perform perineal care and uncomplicated colostomy care
- Must be able to report observations & assessments to the Team Leader/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse
- Must be able to take and record vital signs
- Must be able to make beds and keep resident's units clean and in order
- Must be able to prepare room for housekeeping after resident discharge
- Must be able to promote resident hygiene and comfort
- Must be able to distribute food/water and feed residents
- Must be able to assist with repositioning residents
- Must be able to pass a background and drug test
- Must be able to participate in mandatory vaccine programs
- Must be able to participate in testing requirements
- Must be able to use designated PPE when required
