Job Summary
Provide personal care, therapeutic programming, and emotional support to residents while promoting their dignity and independence. Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, and mobility. Monitor resident health status, document services and incidents in the computer tracking system, and report changes to the nurse. Answer emergency calls, escort residents to meals, and facilitate group and individual engagement activities. Complete orientation training and participate in ongoing in-service education programs.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to use computer for documenting services provided
- Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written
- Completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation
- CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed
- Current license/certification as required by State Regulation
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training
- Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia
