Job Summary
The CNA assists in clinic operations, provides personal care per the care plan, observes and reports on residents, and documents services in the electronic health record. Responsibilities include patient care tasks such as bathing, feeding assistance, mobility support, linen changes, and meal preparation within a home-care/clinic setting; triaging requests with the Nurse Supervisor or Physician; maintaining safety and HIPAA compliance; and delivering high-quality customer service. Required skills include proficiency in medical terminology, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, a customer-service orientation, ability to respect elder preferences, teamwork, empathy, and professional presentation. Education includes a high school diploma or GED and NC CNA certification with CPR certification from the Red Cross or AHA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) degree from an accredited institution
- North Carolina CNA Certification with no substantiated reports on the state registry
- Certified in CPR by either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Excellent interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships
- Stellar customer service oriented
- Ability to model and ensure others are providing medical treatment in a manner that honors elders’ preferences and individuality
- Demonstrates strong commitment to the highest clinical outcomes
- Proficient in recognizing early signs of changing conditions and uses all available resources
