Job Summary
Review and follow directions for assigned patients, assisting with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting. Promptly respond to call lights, measure vital signs, and report abnormalities to the nursing team. Support fall prevention, reposition patients, and transport specimens while maintaining accurate EHR documentation. Once trained, perform additional duties such as NG suction, EKGs, suctioning, and applying traction equipment. Manage nurse server stocking, equipment maintenance, and administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and data entry.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant with the Oregon State Board of Nursing
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification
- Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements (for Home Health/Hospice/Wound caregivers only)
- Completion of additional SCHS CNA training course within 45 days of hire
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely
- Must be able to: Interact with a diverse population and professionally represent St. Charles Health System
- Must be able to: Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to: Multi-task and work independently
- Must be able to: Sit for long periods of time remaining alert and monitoring patient

- Must have: Demonstrated ability and experience with computer applications, use of electronic medical record keeping systems and MS Office

- Frequently (50%): Sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 1-25 pounds
- The use and operation of a motor vehicle for Home Health and Wound Caregivers
- Rarely (10%): Bending, stooping/kneeling/crouching, climbing ladder/stepstool (varies by area), reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 25-50 pounds, grasping/squeezing, ability to hear whispered speech level
- Rarely (10%): Wet/slippery area, chemical solution
- Blood-Borne Pathogen (BBP) Exposure Category Risk for Exposure to BBP
Desired Qualifications
