Job Summary
Conduct quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents, encouraging independence and participation in community activities. Perform housekeeping duties including making beds, cleaning apartments, and maintaining dining areas. Assist residents with dining, activities, and transitions, while checking on residents to ensure attendance and report status or concerns to appropriate individuals. Report incidents, care concerns, and interventions to the Daily Log and clinical records, communicating resident status and upcoming information verbally and in writing. Remain calm during emergencies and follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
Required Qualifications
- Current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
- Ability to be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
- Ability to be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
- Ability to be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
- Ability to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Ability to be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to become certified within 60 days of hire
- Ability to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
- Willingness to attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
