Job Summary
Conduct chart prep, greet and escort patients to exam rooms, and document vital signs, social history, and current complaints accurately. Perform CLIA waived lab testing, monitor supplies for outdating, restock exam rooms, and order necessary materials. Answer phone calls, document patient messages, and schedule referrals and appointments as ordered. Assist providers with procedures, prep for tests, and tear down equipment as needed. Maintain confidentiality, follow infection control fundamentals, and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory bodies. Travel to satellite clinics as required.
Required Qualifications
- Current BLS certification or will achieve within six months of hire
- Must be certified competent by designee for all medical equipment testing
- Must be able to follow directions
- Working knowledge of computer applications
- If a CNA, maintains current licensure and meets all regulations required of CMS and IDPH
- Must be familiar with CPT and ICD codes
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of the insurance industry
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Ability to handle a busy, fast-paced clinic that can be stressful at times
- Ability to lift 40 pounds from floor to waist
- Ability to lift 50 pounds from 14 inches to waist
- Ability to lift 20 pounds from waist to shoulder
- Ability to lift 10 pounds from shoulder to overhead
- Ability to carry 40 pounds for 30 feet
- Ability to push 40 pounds for 30 feet
- Ability to pull 40 pounds for 30 feet
- Ability to transfer patients using a gait belt
- Ability to push a wheelchair
- Visual acuity to observe patients for assessment and data collection
- Auditory acuity to hear patient's verbal communication
- Emotional stability conductive to dealing with patients and family members
- Must be available to travel to satellite clinics as needed
- Must be available for Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm hours
- Must be available for 40 hours per week
- Must be willing to achieve BLS certification within six months of hire

- Experience as demonstrated by past performance regarding CPT and ICD codes
