Job Summary
Float between Acute Care and Labor and Delivery to deliver patient care under direct supervision of RNs or LPNs. Provide basic care, assist with activities, and accurately use medical technology including the electronic health record. Serve as a conduit between patients and nurses by recording and communicating information and issues to medical staff. Obtain work assignments from RNs or LPNs, coordinate patient care with the team leader, and report changes in patient condition. Assist with ambulation, bathing, bed making, and personal care while maintaining patient room and facility cleanliness. Monitor supplies, complete restocking according to PAR levels, and pass ice water, snacks, and meals while documenting intake and output. Adhere to Mid-Valley Hospital policies, infection control procedures, and safety protocols across all patient populations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CNA training
- 1-3 years in acute care setting
- Currently registered with Washington State
- Ability to renew license prior to birthday year
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to stoop by bending body downward and forward
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to carry objects up to 20 pounds
- Ability to work any shift in emergencies
- Ability to work any day of the week
- Ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations
- Ability to communicate and interact with patients of all ages
- Ability to communicate and interact with patients of all ages (Non-Clinical Personnel)
