CNA/Nursing Assistant/Nurse Apprentice-Trauma Gen Surg (Days)

Job Summary
Provide nursing care services and related non-professional tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse on the Trauma Gen Surg Unit. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, clerical duties, receptionist work, and patient service coordination for an acute-care unit serving 18-100+ year-old patients post-surgical or post-traumatic events. Schedule features three 12-hour day shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) with flexibility for weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Must hold Idaho CNA certification (or be permitted as Nurse Apprentice) or completion of Trinity Nursing Assistant Program, plus BLS certification; ACLS/PALS acceptable if currently certified. Emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and supporting the nursing staff on a General Surgical Team.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho
- Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing OR Trinity Nursing Assistant Program
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA, ARC or Military Training Network)
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho
- Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing
- Trinity Nursing Assistant Program
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- ACLS or PALS certification if currently certified
- Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting (preferred)
- Ability to perform clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination tasks
- Ability to perform nursing care services under supervision of licensed nurse
- Flexible to work a varied schedule (including weekends and holidays)
