Job Summary
CNA/Nursing Assistant in Med/Surg2 providing direct patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activities of daily living, ambulation, and use of therapeutic devices; collecting and documenting vitals (BP, TPR), I&O, daily weights, and other patient data in the EMR; performing rounding and communicating observations to RN; participating in admission, transfer, and discharge processes; ensuring call light access, stocking and maintaining nursing station supplies, and coordinating specimen collection and transport; maintaining patient positioning, skin care, and nutrition support; complying with infection prevention practices and site-specific policies; prepared to lift up to 50 lbs, with other physical requirements as described. Family/patient care needs and site-specific training are included; time is split across shifts with weekend and holiday requirements. Education credentials include GED/HSED/HS diploma; BLS and Nurse Aide certification required and maintained. Experience: None.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry
- Education Required: GED or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate
