Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and dining while implementing specialized dementia-care techniques for a safe, structured environment. Monitor and record vital signs, fluid intake, and behavioral changes, promptly reporting updates to the unit LPN or Charge Nurse. Help residents transfer safely, walk, and position comfortably using proper body mechanics. Engage residents in meaningful conversations and social routines to promote cognitive stimulation and emotional well-being. Provide gentle encouragement and companionship tailored to residents living with cognitive impairments.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) certification in the State of Indiana
Desired Qualifications
- Current CPR / BLS certification
- Prior experience as a C.N.A. in Memory Care, Assisted Living, or Long-Term Care
- Deep empathy
- Exceptional patience
- Strong reliability
- A calm, reassuring approach when working with residents living with memory loss
