Job Summary
CNA Medical Clerk role combining direct patient-care tasks with clerical responsibilities on an inpatient unit. In this role you’ll perform nursing duties such as assisting with daily living activities, monitoring intake and output, collecting specimens, performing finger-stick glucose monitoring, and ensuring accurate patient documentation and chart preparation. You’ll also handle clerical tasks including answering calls, coordinating admissions, transcribing physician orders, scheduling tests and appointments, processing transfers and discharges, maintaining patient records, and communicating with dietary and other hospital services. Requires completion of an accredited nursing assistant program, CNA certification, and a valid NC driver’s license; demonstrates knowledge of nursing terminology, inpatient procedures, and basic computer/typing skills. Environment involves hospital duties with exposure to potential communicable diseases; flexibility in working hours and strong confidentiality practices are expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Accredited nursing assistant program
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Six months experience in clerical duties (typing, computer use, filing)
- Proficiency with basic medical terminology and inpatient charting
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license
