Job Summary
Provide basic patient care and assistance under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including personal hygiene, vital signs, feeding, and non-sterile treatments. Maintain patient rooms and units, document intake and output, and report abnormal data or status changes to the assigned nurse. Answer call lights, explain procedures to patients and families, and follow infection control and safety policies. Interact as a team with physicians, RNs, and LPNs to serve patients of all ages and abilities. Requires current Illinois CNA certification and completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program
- Current certification with the State of Illinois for Nursing Assistant required for work with Swing Bed patients
Desired Qualifications
- 3-6 months experience as Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
