Job Summary
The CNA provides compassionate patient care under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN), performing duties such as turning/moving/ambulating patients, assisting with bathing and grooming, feeding, documenting intake, checking vital signs, transportation of patients, and maintaining infection-control protocols. Responsibilities include maintaining patient confidentiality, ensuring operation of equipment, cooperating with health care teams, adapting care to individual needs, and adhering to DRH safety standards and vaccination requirements. Requires Oklahoma Nurse Aide Training certification/registration, BLS, CPI training, and compliance with safety-sensitive policies.
Required Qualifications
- Certification by the Oklahoma State Health Department and registration as a Certified Nurse Aide.
- American Heart Association BLS required; May have up to 30 days from date of hire or transfer to earn BLS.
- CPI Training required; May have up to 1 year from date of hire or transfer to obtain.
- Completion of an approved Oklahoma Nurse Aide Training program, or previous health care related experience, or other related experience or training.
- This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
- Vaccinations required per DRH Policy; Medical and Religious Exemptions available upon request.
- Must be able to take call and respond within 60 minutes.
Desired Qualifications
- Oklahoma Certified Nurse Aide certification
- Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry in good standing
- BLS - American Heart Association
- CPI (Crisis Prevention International) training
- Completion of an approved Oklahoma Nurse Aide Training program
- Health care experience or related training
- Ability to take call and respond within 60 minutes
