Job Summary
Conduct direct nursing aide care and support duties for persons served with complex medical and psychiatric conditions, including diabetes, kidney issues, mobility challenges, and HIV/AIDS. Administer medications per Medication Administration Program guidelines, document vital signs, perform skin care, toileting, and range of motion exercises. Assist residents with activities of daily living, help prepare meals, and accompany them to medical and psychiatric appointments. Use recovery-oriented, harm-reduction, and trauma-informed approaches to promote engagement, housing permanency, and self-sufficiency. Report medical or mental status changes to the nurse, complete incident documentation, and participate in quality improvement goals. Maintain physical site safety and assist with maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant in Massachusetts
- Valid driver's license
- Valid US driver's license for at least six months
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with PS, staff, and external representatives
