Job Summary
The CNA provides resident-centered nursing care under RN supervision in a long-term care setting. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing), measuring and recording vital signs, assisting with meals, transferring and repositioning residents, providing range-of-motion and passive exercises, documenting resident interactions and care outcomes, supporting wellness and recreational programs, and adhering to infection prevention and PPE policies. This role may involve shift variability, after-6pm and weekend differentials, and may require driving per facility policy.
Required Qualifications
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 16
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (12 hours annually)
- Possession/registration as CNA and potential state-specific requirements; potential UAP Registry licensing where applicable
