Job Summary
Assist nurses with basic care activities including dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, and vital signs monitoring. Answer call lights, assist with toileting, oral care, and catheter care, transport patients in wheelchairs, and turn bedridden individuals. Clean rooms, change bed linens, and record temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Administer medication as directed by a physician or nurse while documenting amounts and times. Maintain a valid driver's license and possess current CNA certification or equivalent experience. Perform duties requiring proper body mechanics to lift up to 75 lbs. Join a neurorehabilitation program that supports recovery for patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or strokes in home and community settings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age requirements is 18 years
- Valid driver's license, with satisfactory driving record, as defined by agency policy
- Certification, if required by state licensure as a CNA or Home Health Care Aide in the state in which the aide is to provide care
- Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or 6 months of recent experience as an aide
- Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting and may be expected to lift up 75 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time and bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach
