Job Summary
The CNA provides direct, hands-on care to residents in a senior living setting under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, promoting comfort and dignity, observing and reporting changes in condition, and contributing to a safe, compassionate, and person-centered care environment. Required to meet Virginia CNA licensure or training requirements (and become eligible to register for the state exam within 120 days if applicable), hold current CPR or obtain certification within 60 days, and demonstrate reliable teamwork and communication. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds; work a night shift schedule (6 pm–6 am) on a rotating weekly pattern; high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Salaries range from $16.50-$21.70 per hour, with evening/night and weekend differentials, and benefits including medical, dental, 403(b), PTO, tuition reimbursement, EAP, and other employee perks.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred but not required
- Current license as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia OR Virginia Board of Nursing approved Geriatric Nurse Aide training certificate OR completion of at least 40 hours of clinical nursing care in past 12 months as part of nursing program
