Job Summary
Perform AM or PM resident care following individualized care plans, assisting with bathing, dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene while maintaining room cleanliness and order. Transport residents for meals, activities, and therapies, and assist with procedures such as vital sign monitoring, specimen collection, and hygiene management. Monitor residents' physical conditions and report changes to supervisors, ensuring aseptic techniques and universal precautions are followed to prevent infection. Schedule includes full-time days (7am-3pm or 7am-7pm) or part-time shifts, with every other weekend and holiday coverage. Requires current Pennsylvania State Certification, criminal history clearance, and a high school diploma. This role supports Rest Haven's QAPI and Trauma-Informed Care initiatives by fostering a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing for aging residents.
Required Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania State Certification for nursing assistant. Must be in good standing.
- Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
- Must have patience, compassion, a sense of responsibility and a sincere desire to work with the aged and infirmed.
- Ability to anticipate needs and modes of geriatric Residents while remaining calm and composed.
- Ability to treat Rest Haven and Resident information as confidential.
- Must be a professional.
- Criminal history background clearance – Act 169 & Act 13.
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate preferred or equivalent.
- Previous experience in hospital or nursing home preferred.
