Job Summary
Answer call lights and alarms to assess patient needs, then provide direct care including bathing, feeding, and transporting patients. Reposition bedfast individuals to prevent skin breakdown, change linens, and monitor vital signs such as temperature and blood pressure. Document all activities in the electronic medical record and report status changes to licensed personnel immediately. Maintain safe environments by straightening rooms and clearing walkways for fall prevention. Adhere to Medina Healthcare System policies and participate in department performance improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current Texas Certified Nurse Assistant
- Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Must be able to sit and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed especially in fulfilling patient care activities
