Job Summary
Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and feeding. Perform restorative procedures, measure vital signs, and monitor resident conditions by responding promptly to calls and observing behavioral changes. Transport residents to appointments and activities, while maintaining a clean environment and adhering to infection control protocols. Provide incontinent care, assist with positioning every two hours, and support families during resident deaths. Ensure resident rights are protected and comply with all federal, state regulations, and facility policies.
Required Qualifications
- PA Certified
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to relate to and work with persons who exhibit emotional instability, confusion, or at times, hostility
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to carry such weight a minimum distance of 25 feet
- Using a mechanical device, must regularly be able to push, pull, or move weight in excess of 100 pounds a distance of 300 feet
- Must comply with all federal and state regulations and United Church of Christ Homes' policies regarding the care of residents
