Job Summary
Provide personal care to clients and residents, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding assistance, and ambulation support, while maintaining a clean living environment. Document all services in the electronic health record and triage requests by consulting with the Nurse Supervisor or Physician. Plan nutritious meals and accompany residents to doctor appointments using Salemtowne transportation. Maintain confidentiality by following HIPAA procedures and complete annual compliance training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) degree from an accredited institution
- North Carolina CNA Certification with no substantiated reports on the state registry
- Certified in CPR by either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Excellent interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships
- High level of initiative and creative problem-solving ability
- Stellar customer service oriented
- Ability to model and ensure others are providing medical treatment in a manner that honors elders' preferences and individuality
- Demonstrates strong commitment to the highest clinical outcomes
- Ability to be nimble to do any tasks needed, including those that may seem menial or unpleasant
- Proficient in recognizing early signs of changing conditions and uses all available and appropriate resources to resolve needs
- Practices and models person-centered approach
- Capable of facilitating a sense of team connection and participation
