Job Summary
Take and record vital signs, intake-output measurements, and specimens. Assist with activities of daily living, including ambulation, feeding, oral hygiene, and bed baths. Perform hands-on care for patients in the Critical Care Unit, functioning as a sitter for those requiring full-time supervision. Empty drains, clean ostomy bags, and maintain infection control policies. Conduct phlebotomy and EKGs with required training. Promptly respond to call lights and report significant condition changes to the RN. Maintain patient records and ensure a safe, orderly environment. Work variable hours and shifts in the Critical Care Unit.
Required Qualifications
- CNA Licensure from the State of Tennessee
- CPR
- Must be able to operate computer
- Must be able to read with comprehension
- Must be able to write legibly
- Must be able to perform basic arithmetic computation
- Must have understanding and knowledge of patient care which may be appropriately delegated to nursing assistants
- Must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority
- Must be trained and willing to function in a Sitter capacity for patients who need full-time supervision in the hospital
