Job Summary
Provide personal care and comfort services to terminally ill patients in Cottingham Hospice House residences or the facility, including bathing, mouth care, grooming, ambulation, turning, and range of motion exercises. Monitor patient conditions by measuring vital signs, observing skin integrity, and reporting changes to the registered nurse. Perform assigned homemaker tasks such as changing linens, laundering, cleaning kitchen and bathroom areas, sanitizing durable medical equipment, and running errands. Maintain compliance with hospice policies, infection control standards, and departmental procedures while participating in team conferences as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program
- CNA - NURSING ASSISTANT - NCNA certification
- Current or former South Carolina CNA certification
- Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry
- Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
- Mathematical skills
- Valid driver's license
- Certificate of auto insurance
- Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
