Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and obtaining vital signs under RN supervision. Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range of motion exercises while delivering psychosocial support. Manage food preparation, dining experiences, and meal assistance, then document resident interactions, behaviors, and dietary outcomes. Collect non-invasive specimens, perform housekeeping and laundry services, and encourage participation in wellness and recreational programs. Communicate changing conditions and care concerns to the charge nurse. Maintain infection prevention policies, complete annual competency testing, and hold a valid driver's license if required for Category II driving duties.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable, for applicable states)
- Motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license (when applicable, for Sanford Category II Driver)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
