Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under registered nurse supervision. Deliver age-appropriate care for physical and psychological needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, and vital signs collection. Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range of motion exercises while maintaining infection prevention and control policies. Support food preparation, dining, and recreational programs, and document resident interactions and care outcomes. Communicate changing conditions and concerns to the charge nurse, and provide housekeeping and laundry services as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable)
- Motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license (if role classifies as Sanford Category II Driver)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
- Accepted offer will require a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
