Job Summary
Conduct activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility for residents while observing and reporting condition changes to nursing staff. Provide compassionate, hands-on care aligned with each resident's care plan to support emotional well-being and engagement. Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment by working collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and the care team. This role offers full-time, part-time, or per diem flexibility through Elderwood at Hamburg or our internal ESS float pool. Candidates must hold active NYS CNA certification, be at least 17 years old, and possess minimum two years of geriatric clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Seventeen (17) years of age
- Employment Certificate/Permit
- Registration in the State Nurse Aide Registry (CNA)
- Active on the State Nursing Aide Registry with no findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment or misappropriation of property
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
- Physical stamina for constant activity
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
- Commitment to 4 shifts per month
- At least 2 weekend shifts monthly
- 2 major holidays per year
Desired Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- Training and work experience in a geriatric setting
- Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Caring and respectful attitude towards residents
