Job Summary
CNA/Certified Nursing Assistant providing observation and neuro-med/surgical care under RN supervision. Assists with daily patient care (bathing, feeding, hygiene), measures and documents vital signs and intake/output, performs routine data collection and enters data into the EMR, supports admission/transfer/discharge processes, maintains patient safety (call lights, transfer procedures, room setup) and supplies, and participates in patient positioning and mobility tasks. Performs specimen collection and point-of-care testing as indicated, with emphasis on infection prevention and proper documentation. Requires basic computer skills, effective communication, and adherence to department policies; BLS and Nurse Aide certification in good standing are required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with patient transfers, and meet physical/work demands as outlined. Provides compassionate patient care within the Med Surg Neuro/Observation unit and collaborates with RN and care team to support patient needs and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 45 days
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices
- Education: Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate
