Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care, delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with basic health care needs such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, transferring and repositioning residents, providing ROM and passive exercises, aiding with meals and dining, documenting resident interactions and condition changes, adhering to infection prevention and PPE policies, and supporting wellness/recreational programs. The role may involve housekeeping and laundry tasks to keep living areas clean and operational. Requires knowledge of care plans and effective communication with the charge nurse, with potential departmental committee participation.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
- High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
