Job Summary
Nursing Assistant provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to residents in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Tasks include assisting with basic health care needs (bathing, toileting, grooming, feeding assistance), obtaining and recording vital signs, transferring and repositioning residents, range-of-motion exercises, aiding in meals and dining experiences, and supporting psychosocial well-being. The role involves following infection prevention and PPE policies, documenting resident interactions and outcomes, communicating changes to the charge nurse, and participating in wellness and recreational activities as needed. The position may involve varied shifts including nights/weekends with FLEX scheduling and differential pay. CNA certification and ongoing training are required and provided by the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- Minimum age of 16
- CNA training and certification provided by facility
- Satisfactorily completes yearly competency testing and continuing education requirements
- Applicable state UAP registry/certification if required
- May require Sanford driving policy compliance if applicable
