Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to residents in a long-term skilled care setting under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with basic healthcare needs and activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing), taking and recording vital signs, assisting with transfers and mobility, providing range of motion and passive exercises, aiding in meals and hydration, supporting psychosocial needs, documenting resident interactions and changes, and following care plans and infection prevention/PPE protocols. The role may involve housekeeping and laundry support and participation in wellness/recreational activities, with communication of changing conditions to the charge nurse and participation in relevant committees as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification with State Board of Nursing (or in process/within four months)
- CNA training and certification provided by facility
- Satisfactory completion of annual competency assessments and continuing education
- Must meet state requirements for CNA practice
- Minimum age 16 (per state requirements)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
