Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under RN supervision, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and transferring. Obtain and record vital signs, collect non-invasive specimens, and assist with food preparation and dining. Perform range of motion exercises, housekeeping, and laundry services while documenting interactions and communicating changes to the charge nurse. Maintain infection prevention protocols and complete required continuing education. This role supports the nursing team at Good Samaritan, one of the nation's largest nonprofit senior care providers serving over 10,000 seniors across rural communities in the upper Midwest.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable, for applicable states)
- Motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license (if role classifies as Sanford Category II Driver)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
