Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and obtaining vital signs. Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range-of-motion exercises while following infection prevention policies. Support food preparation, dining, and recreational programs, and document resident interactions and care outcomes. Collect non-invasive specimens and communicate changing conditions to the charge nurse. Maintain competency through annual testing and 12 hours of continuing education. This role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, 36 weekly hours, and a 12-hour day shift with straight weekends at GSS SD Desmet Ctr.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable)
- Valid driver's license (if role classifies as Sanford Category II Driver)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
