Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under RN supervision. Perform tasks including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support. Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range of motion exercises while ensuring infection prevention and PPE compliance. Support food preparation, dining, and wellness programs, and document resident interactions and care outcomes. Communicate changing conditions and concerns to the charge nurse and collect non-invasive specimens. Maintain living areas through housekeeping and laundry services. Requires CNA certification and completion of yearly competency testing.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable, for applicable states)
- Motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license (if role classifies as Sanford Category II Driver)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
