Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under RN supervision. Perform tasks including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with transfers, repositioning, and walking. Support meal preparation and dining while documenting resident interactions, behaviors, and dietary needs. Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens, gather vital signs, and aid nursing staff with procedures as needed. Maintain clean living areas through housekeeping and laundry services, and encourage participation in wellness and recreational programs. Rotate weekends and holidays; work day shift from 6:00 am to 9:00 am. Requires CNA certification or enrollment within four months.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in Minnesota, or the ability to become certified within 4 months
- CNA training and certification required
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable)
- Valid driver's license (if role classifies as Sanford Category II Driver)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
