Job Summary

Provide quality nursing care to guests by assisting with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Monitor individual needs related to incontinent care, transferring, ambulation, and range of motion while maintaining skin integrity through repositioning and moisturizing. Perform assigned tasks such as checking vital signs, weighing guests, applying creams, collecting specimens, and assisting wound care nurses. Document care provided in PCC, maintain a safe and clean environment, and respond promptly to all call lights. Communicate effectively with guests, visitors, families, and staff while adhering to infection control and OSHA standards. Assist with new admissions, transfers, and guest appointments, and participate in staff training and education programs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Michigan Certified Nurse Aide Certification or eligibility to test with certification within 4 months of hire
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematics
  • Ability to verbally communicate with residents, staff, and visitors
  • Dependability by being punctual and maintaining good attendance
  • Ability to maintain a safe environment for Residents and co-workers
  • Ability to transport Residents and equipment as needed
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to work nights and weekends to accommodate the needs of the guests
  • Tolerance for potential exposure to blood, body tissues, and fluids with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases
  • Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment
  • Ability to travel as needed or assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • One year of experience in long-term care, hospice, or healthcare
