Job Summary
Provide compassionate care for patients' personal needs and comfort, including assisting with hygiene tasks like bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and elimination needs. Perform delegated nursing tasks such as collecting specimens, administering enemas, transporting patients, applying non-sterile dressings, performing surgical preps, and applying ice packs and heat treatments. Document all care provided in a comprehensive and timely manner while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked patient care environment. Anticipate and respond to patient comfort needs by rounding and answering call lights, communicating observations to the assigned nurse. Maintain clinical competency and participate in continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant Program
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Maryland
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification in compliance with organizational policy
- Ability to lift, move, and transport patients and equipment
- Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
- Emotional resilience to support patients and families in challenging situations
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting
