Job Summary
CNA position at The Davis Community in Wilmington, NC providing direct personal care to residents in an assisted living setting. Responsibilities include providing personal care and assistance with ADLs, tidying and upkeep of resident rooms, assisting with dining and meal delivery, supporting resident-centered activities, monitoring changes in residents' health, and reporting concerns to the Supervisor In Charge. Requires CNA certification, ability to perform tasks such as feeding residents with swallowing difficulties, gait training, ROM exercises, and various care procedures per Title 10 NCAC 42D.1410, plus strong communication and documentation skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to operate office equipment, including but not limited to the copier and fax machines, and all appropriate nursing equipment.
- Must be able to work in a well-lighted, office area and/or neighborhood.
- May stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the workday.
- Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds.
- Must be able to read and write the English language.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience dealing with the elderly population.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- CNA: Must be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA I)of an accredited program and possess a current nurse aide certificate for the state of North Carolina with no substantial findings.
- CNA: At least have some experience in CNA work. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
