Job Summary
Perform activities of daily living for residents under the direction and supervision of a Nurse. Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and dressing. Keep incontinent residents clean, manage toileting needs, and assist with ambulation and repositioning. Prepare residents for meals, transport them to dining areas, and document intake accurately. Monitor vital signs, observe condition changes, and report updates to the Supervisor. Answer call lights, maintain clean rooms, and remove soiled linens. Treat residents with dignity while adhering to all rights, confidentiality, and universal precautions. Maintain certification and attend mandatory inservices.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Completion of high school education
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Certification in the state where applying
- Successful completion of CNA training from a state-approved school
- Obtain certification within the first four (4) months of employment
- Capability of maintaining regular attendance as required
- Ability to work weekend and overtime as required
- Meeting all local health regulations
- Pass postemployment exam, if required
- Capability of performing the Essential Job Functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to relate positively and favorable to residents, families, and outside agencies
- Ability to work cooperatively with other associates
- Ability to present to groups
- Ability to remain calm under stress
- Ability to communicate with local staff, remote staff, and outside agencies
- Understanding of rules regarding resident's rights
- Maintenance of an orderly, confidential, and safe work environment
- Practice of universal precautions at all times
- Adherence to all Company and departmental policies and procedures
