Job Summary
Provide direct, one-on-one support to an elementary student throughout the school day, remaining within arm's reach to ensure safety. Assist with activities of daily living, including toileting and personal hygiene, while administering medication per physician orders and school policy. Monitor the student's health and comfort, facilitating participation in classroom instruction, specials, lunch, recess, and field trips. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to maintain accurate documentation of care and respond promptly to emergency situations. Promote the student's independence while fostering a trusting relationship within our caring school community.
Required Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist a student safely as needed
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
