Job Summary
Responsible for preparing, administering and charting oral, topical and suppository drugs; measuring pulse and blood pressure; administering PRN drugs; assisting with admission, discharge, and transfer procedures; documenting clearly in MAR, Controlled Substance and Destructions logs, and Resident Records; using Life Stories Training techniques to minimize resident stress and maximize cooperation through dignity and empathy.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a state approved Medication Technician Training Program is required
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Current state Medication Technician Certification is required
- One year of experience as a Certified Medication Technician is preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must be able to lift, bend and stand for long periods
- Must possess computer skills
- Must communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
