CMT Engineering Technician

Job Summary
Perform field testing and inspection of construction materials including soil compaction testing, concrete sampling/testing and placement inspections, asphalt density testing, and reinforcing steel inspections; monitor construction activities for compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards; communicate field observations and test results to project managers, contractors, and clients; prepare clear, timely field reports; assist with site safety and adhere to safety requirements; maintain, transport, and operate field testing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in construction materials testing (CMT), inspections, or construction fieldwork preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Certifications: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Level I (highly preferred); ICC Certifications (preferred but not required): Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry; Nuclear Density Gauge
