Job Summary
Provide routine medication administration and personal care for residents to maintain high-quality resident care. Set up and administer medications per physician orders and state/federal regulations; chart routine medications and observations; manage medication inventory; perform rounds with nurse and physician; maintain resident documentation for activities of daily living and restorative programs; participate in training to maintain certification. Requires high school diploma or GED and Nurse Aide Training program completion or eligibility, plus completion of a state-approved training course for medication administration; ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and external agencies. Full-time role with benefits and patient-focused care culture.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days
- Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state approved training course
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to maintain resident documentation and charts
- Ability to work harmoniously with staff and residents
- Patience, tact, and enthusiasm; willingness to implement new nursing practices
- Willingness to seek new methods and principles and incorporate them into nursing practices
