Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for self-contained classroom. Responsible for implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting student progress, developing and implementing IEPs, coordinating with PPTs and outside agencies, counseling and communicating with families, maintaining records, and contributing to ongoing professional development. Requires knowledge of Special Education principles, differentiated instruction, data systems, and applicable federal/state laws; must hold state certification as a Special Education Teacher and a Master's in Special Education; requires transportation ability and prior special education teaching experience preferred. Travel to district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- State Certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Masters Degree in Special Education
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
