Job Summary
Conduct tool maintenance and repair for planned and unplanned issues in the cleanroom wafer fabrication facility. Perform root cause troubleshooting and fault finding to the component level while assisting with ongoing tool development and enhancement. Propose projects to reduce costs, improve tool availability, and increase system efficiency through hands-on practical investigation with engineering tool owners. Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and test equipment to resolve hardware issues with minimal supervision. Work a compressed night shift schedule requiring continuous standing, stair navigation, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to wear required PPE and cleanroom garments including, but not limited to, full-body jumpsuit, safety glasses, nitrile gloves, face masks, hairnets, hoods and closed-toe cleanroom shoes
- Experience in the use of hand tools
- Ability to read, comprehend and adhere to written procedures, both on paper and a computer monitor, and ability to respond to verbal directions accurately and efficiently
- Basic personal computer and keyboarding skills for accurate input of data
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate written and orally
- Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and follow-up
- Ability to walk and stand continuously throughout a 12-hour shift
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs frequently
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 pounds
- Ability to hear and respond immediately to equipment alarms
- Night Shift availability (implied by 'Night Shift' in title and '3rd Shift/Nights' in requirements)
Desired Qualifications
- Working toward associate degree or formal training in maintenance/mechanical field
- Strong hands-on maintenance and repair background
- Previous experiences and familiarity with a cleanroom or semiconductor factory environment, preferably CMP
- Capable of demonstrating analytical troubleshooting methods (Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, 5-why), and First Time Right repair skills
