Job Summary
CMM Technician in Shrewsbury, MA responsible for ensuring dimensional conformity of parts to engineering drawings and specifications. Develop, execute, and maintain CMM programs using PC-DMIS or FARO CAM2; measure parts with verniers, micrometers, thread gauges, and optical/digital comparators; perform visual inspections and PMI; review documentation to ensure standards compliance; document results and provide proper inspection tools to the shop floor; work both independently and as part of a team to support on-time shipments. The role emphasizes metrology program execution, dimensional inspections of metal and plastic components, and collaboration with supervisors and engineers; background checks and pre-employment physical/drug screen are noted for employment eligibility. We offer a wage between $28.00-$37.00 hourly with benefits including 401k with company match and company-funded pension; position located in Valmet’s Shrewsbury, MA Metrology department.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a relevant field
- 4+ years of experience preferably using PC-DMIS software
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
- Proficient in geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments (comparators, dial indicator gauges, verniers, micrometers, thread gauges)
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members, supervisors and engineers
